Hello and Welcome!
We’re Tiff and Chris…aka…The Travel Rangers.
This idea was thought up over a cup of coffee in Chile. We had just completed hiking the 11 day Torres del Paine hiking circuit and once back in town, (and showered), we were enjoying coffee and treats with our new friends. We told them about our lives including a few of these high lights:
- being wilderness therapy instructors in the Utah desert sleeping out in the back country for eight day shifts
- lived out of a van for almost two years in Australia working, traveling and looking for wildlife
- being park rangers with Vermont State Parks off and on for over ten years
- spent two months in Borneo, Malaysia
- and a whole lot more
As we told them more and more about our life it came to be that we were: The Travel Rangers.
For over the past decade we have been traveling all over the world looking for rare and endangered wildlife. Well, and some cute wildlife too.
What we found was a lot of people are super interested in viewing wildlife and being outdoors. But sometimes people get stuck and don’t really know how to interact with the outdoors or to find wildlife.
So we made this site for all of us.
Our mission is:
To show anyone who would like amazing wildlife and nature photography while also educating and inspiring a greater appreciation of the natural world.
Don’t forget to follow us on facebook, instagram, twitter, youtube, and pinterest. We also write a newsletter and be sure to sign up HERE.
You may have also noticed we have a shop. We get many requests for our photos. Some people just like the animals. Some people travel with us vicariously via the internet and want a little piece of adventure they can hang in their living room. Whatever your reason is, we are honored that you would buy our work and we thank you for that. Your purchases help us keep traveling to often remote and underdeveloped regions of the world. This in turn helps us redistribute wealth to those who need it most buy supporting small businesses, guests houses, guides and parks all over the world. As John Muir said, “When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.”
So thank you for your interest in joining us. Now let’s get out there!
And if you want to see our other site showcasing our adventures from the past ten years of travel, please check out www.vagabondway.net. We also post cool stuff there.
